Dragons 2021-22 – Week 10 & 11 Results

Week 10 British Universities & Colleges Sport (BUCS) Results 🏀

First week back from the Winter break for the University BUCS including Men’s Local League games to start 2022.

🐲Westminster 1st (7-1) shockingly lose to UEL 2nd in their first BUCS game after the winter break 94-89.

🐲Westminster 2nd (3-3)  take the walkover 20-0 win over Roehampton 1st as they are unable to field a team.

🐲Westminster 3rd (0-6) showing improvements and pulling an impressive fight over Brunel 3rd, narrowly losing 68-75.

🐲Westminster Women’s (Knocked out of BUCS Cup) sadly forfeit the away cup game to St.Mary’s 20-0 in Week 10.

🐲Westminster Women’s (0-7) Week 11 saw Women’s fortunes with no change, losing to Queen Mary 1st 75-10.

🐲Westminster Dragons (4-0)  first game back in 2022 is the return game for London Black Panthers. A strong 4th Quarter pushes the Dragons through a challenging game in Bromley yesterday evening, beating the Panthers 84-79. Guard Aundre Reid (28 points) and Kamari Hunter (26 points) combined for 54 points.

🐲Westminster Dragons (Advanced to LMBL Cup Semi-Finals)  – After receiving a BYE to the Quarter-Finals the Dragons advance to the final four.  Under-sized against Premier team Hoxton Heat, Westminster found themselves down for the majority of the game. Consistent effort on defense and full-court pressure saw the Dragons defeat Hoxton Heat 109-104 in a close match-up in Hackney.

American guard Aundre Reid fouled out early in the 4th Quarter, but still finished with a game-high 38 points. Guard Marley Opoku continued his scoring streak adding 21 points and Spanish senior Fernando Roman added 16 points, including crucial plays in the fourth quarter.
